Deborah Honeycutt is Running

January 25, 2010

Independent, Strong, Principled Leadership

Dr. Honeycutt is a family medicine physician who earned her medical degree from the University of Illinois School of Medicine and Family Practice Residency Program. She currently is the Medical Director of Clayton State University Health Services. She shows her independence as she agrees with Frederick Douglas, son of a slave and an American abolitionist, who said,   “I prefer to be true to myself, even at the hazard of incurring the ridicule of others, rather than to be false, and to incur my own abhorrence.” Known for her integrity, Deborah quotes Frederick Douglas when she says, “I would unite with anybody to do right and with nobody to do wrong.”

Jobs, Jobs, Job

U.S. Congressional District 13 needs an economic engine. Deborah has proposed an institute for business and community development to serve this function. This proposed institute would have a major developmental impact throughout District 13, which covers portions of Clayton, Cobb, Dekalb, Douglas, Fulton and Henry counties. The institute will bring a major boost to the quality of life throughout the six county area while solving critical research and planning needs to assist development in the South I-285 area. Increased business and community entrepreneurship will stimulate economic development in the region by providing a framework for job creation and personal prosperity.

People’s Voice Must be Heard

“More and more citizens are convinced that we must elect leaders who are effective in operating across political party lines,” Honeycutt says. “They see the ineffectiveness and inertia of partisan party politics: Very little gets done. I may be one of the nation’s best candidates this election cycle because I am responsible to and responsive to the community. All who know me know that I will not allow anyone to put me in a position to have my integrity impinged, unlike the Democrat incumbent. My prescription for Congressional squabbles is to forge consensus and do what is best for the American people.”
